Food Drives

Huge shout out to this awesomely generous community for their support in providing food to those in need. You rock!

We usally hold several food drives per year, and benefit from many others.

Our major event is in December, when we have run “Fill The Trailer” aka “Stuff the Trailer” for several years. With the help of local radio and businesses, a large portion of our income comes from this. Event schedules cover entertainment, refreshments and friendly competition to increase donations.

Many community businesses, organisations, and schools run food drives for donation to the Foodbank.

Community Events such as Logger Sports have traditionally asked for food donations* in place of the cover charge.

The Brown Bag food drive* is run in fall with local church organisation, Church of the Latter Day Saints. Brown paper bags are dropped off by volunteers at local households with some info on the campaign, and after a week or so, volunteers pick up the filled bags. Proceeds are distributed evenly between 3 organisations: the Church, the Salvation Army, and us. Volunteers are crucial to the success of this food drive, and are provided by all 3 of the benefitting groups.

Many local stores have collection bins for customer donations on an ongoing basis.

*Please check expiry dates before donating.
