We have had a representative at the Powell River Farmers Market ever weekend this year.
As we strive to provide more fresh food, we also prefer to buy locally. We have been buying veggies, eggs and meat on a regular basis. As a bonus, we often receive baked goods as a donation.
We are also happy to be able to provide a BC Farmers’Food Donation Tax Credit to any farmer that donates to our food bank. More info about that on this page
Vendor Purchases:
Purchases cannot be made from vendors until after 12:30pm Saturday and 2:30pm Sunday in order to allow the general public first access to produce.
Canned Donations:
No canned donations can be accepted at the market which are over 3 months expired.
Acceptable Foods:
- Fresh or Frozen Fruits and Vegetables
- Fresh or Frozen Meat
- Eggs
Farmers:
“Farm to Food Bank Program”
With the new BC Farm Credit program, you are now eligible for a 25% tax credit on all your donations of produce and meat within a year.
There are limited funds available to purchase from farmers. This supports members of our community and feeds nutritious foods to users of the Food Bank. Look for our representative at the Open Powell Rivers Farmers Market on weekends.
